Let’s get to know each other.

I'm not interested in painting things "perfectly" or photo-realistically. That's boring in my humble opinion. My focus is on color, bold brushwork, mark making and creating energy in my compositions. 

I love impressionism and am incredibly inspired by fauvism which is French for "the wild beasts" this group of early 20th century modern artists emphasized painterly qualities and strong color over realism.

I approach each painting with a sense of improvisation by making painterly strokes and listening to where the painting wants to go next. My best paintings are the paintings where I simply let go of any specific outcome and find a sense of spontaneity and joy throughout the process.

You can find me most days in my at home studio in Wilmington, North Carolina or at Home Goods buying something I definitely don't need.
